This page explains what Dalsna Finance (dalsnafin.com) collects when you visit, what it keeps for members, and which other services help run the site.

Analytics

We use two analytics tools to count visits and see which pages are read.

• Umami counts page views without setting cookies.
• Google Analytics 4. For visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland it starts with analytics and ad storage switched off (Google's consent mode), so it sets no analytics cookies and sends Google only cookieless measurements. Elsewhere it may set Google Analytics cookies to tell one visit from another. Google's ad features are off everywhere: no ad storage, no ad personalisation and no Google signals.

Google Analytics doesn't run for search-engine crawlers that say who they are, or on the site's admin pages.

Signing in

You can read the whole site without an account. Sign-in is run by Clerk, which keeps your email address and sign-in details and sets the cookies that keep you signed in. Our own database stores your account ID from Clerk, not your email address.

If you aren't signed in, a watchlist or bookmarks you make are kept in your own browser's storage, not on our servers. When you sign in on that browser they are copied to your account.

What we keep for members

When you are signed in, we store what you save or post, linked to your account ID:

• your watchlist and bookmarks;
• which stories the Curated feed has shown you in the last 36 hours, so it doesn't repeat them;
• your portfolio: the shares and prices you enter or import, your transactions and your forecasts;
• when you accepted the portfolio disclaimer, and which version;
• your username, the calls you post on scorecards and your votes on them, your comments and any comment you report, and your crowd guesses.

Your username, scorecard calls and comments are shown publicly on the site, and your crowd guesses count towards public results and the guessing leaderboard, which lists usernames.

If you import a portfolio from a screenshot, the image is sent to Anthropic's Claude service to read the rows. We don't store the image; only the rows you then save are kept.

Downloading or deleting your data

On your account page you can download a copy of your watchlist, your bookmarks, the shares currently in your portfolio, when you accepted the portfolio disclaimer, and your account email address. Transactions and forecasts are not included in the download.

You can also delete your account there. Deleting it removes your sign-in, watchlist, bookmarks, portfolio, transactions, forecasts and disclaimer acceptance. It does not remove anything else, such as your username, scorecard calls, votes, comments or guesses; email us to ask for those to be removed.

Server logs and hosting

Our server logs record the address of each page requested and the browser type, not your IP address. Rate limits that protect the site from abuse use IP addresses in memory only. The site is hosted on Render and served through Cloudflare, which handle every request in order to deliver the site.

Who we share data with

We don't sell or rent personal data. It goes only to the services named on this page, which run parts of the site.
